My parents told me that they would love to get a picture of me.. which is kinda a problem, cause if there is something that i hate.. than it is to take pictures with me in them. There is a reason why god made me a photographer and not a model.

But i have to admit, with that new equipment even a goofball like me can look good..

Pope Danny

I have some sadness to share.. my husbands grandfather Danny past away last tuesday morning. He had a surgery in the hospital and was suppose to come home when he got struck by a massive heartattack!

We are all so sad.. he will be missed dearly!

I knew Grandpa just for three years.. but it feels like he has always been my grandpa. When i was pregnant with Ally and new to America, he drove me to all my doctor's appointments and waited all the time patiently. Grandma used to say that grandpa and i are having a date.

And that he was a great man and well known and loved got visible when there was the visit for Grandpa on Friday. Around 350 people showed up to say goodbye! It was so wonderful! And not talking about all the flowers people sent. I've never seen so many flowers before. I know grandpa got a kick out all of that! And specialy out the fishingpull and GONE FISHING sign he got put into his casket. I know he loved that!

..to write my next blog post. We been on vacation for a week. Stayed at my mother in laws trailor at Lake Rathbun. What a fun and sometimes a little too exciting week for me.

We had a lot of FIRSTS..

Ally's first Ice cream she ate all herself..

my first vacation living in Iowa.. the first time for Ally to go swimming in a lake.. and sadly but truly my first time ever coming so close to a tornado. I was sooo freaked out! I was sooo close to call Lufthansa and bagg them to get me out of here!!

And they day before we left the south of Iowa they had storms in the north were we live too, so i thought, great, by the time we are home the storms are over!! Ha ha.. we stoped at Jonathon's grandmas house, 15 minutes away from our hometown, to drop off the key tp their trailor and guess what.. the weather radio starts beeping and they tell us that a storm with tornados will go right thru my hometown. aaahhhhh.... but nothing happend! thank god! And i even could snap some funky sky pictures in my hometown area. What a weird heaven that evening!

Is it only me here who get's followed by bad weather and storms or are there more of me out there???

guess what i bought me yesterday.. fit flops! and i can just say.. i love em! they are so comfortable and on the other side i can already feel my legs working!! i have to admit.. i am in love!

i bought them in silver, cause i thought that it would be a great color to wear with everything.. from sporty to even more resort like outfits! i love to wear linen pants and i believe they will look fantastic with them.

But i am already thinking about gettin me RED ones too! so if you wanna give your legs a workout while getting some groceries or just going for a small walk.. go and get yourself some fit flops!

Seriously i looovveeee these shoes! Jonathon almost got lost in Regensburg trying to buy them for me. He was never that good in finding his way around Germany.

So funny.. even the day he got me the ring wanting to propose to me later that day, he got soooo lost in our little city that it took him really quite a while to come home. And i was waiting there totally pissed at him cause we wanted to go to our picknick and it got later and later. And than my mom made the offer to just cook for us and Jonathon got all.. oh no.. we need to go to the picknick.. was soo looking forward to it! Yep, the poor boy, everybody was trying to ruin his day. Not knowing what he had planned!

But in the end, everything worked out and we got engaged!

the Zoo and Ally's first Birthday

What a great exciting week we had.. Ally's first birthday with a lot of presents and her first birthday party.

Jonathon made a sandbox for Ally in our backyard and she love it..

Originally the sandbox should have been white and with butterflys painted on and stuff.. girly sandbox of course.
And i think i shouldn't have left my husband alone with the sandbox and his idea's! Cause when i came back out of the house a half hour later i found a army sandbox in my backyard.

And even if it is not super girly and full of flowers and butterflys i think it is on of the coolest sandbox's ever. Ally seem's to have a blast in it.. and that's what counts!

Crazy how time flys by and we already have now a one year old daugther! And how big she already is in how she acts and does! How fun to see her all excited about her cake and the presents.

Or when we we're at the zoo.. she was sooo excited about the animals and the giraffe's in particular!

And i was totally freaked out by those koi's. Have you ever seen that before??? They been almost lifting themselves up out of the water to get food from the people. Crazy!!

So if you happen to life in iowa.. Blank Park Zoo is really a nice and fun Zoo to go to. Ally loved it.. of course Omaha rocks! but Des Moines is really worth the trip. Specially for younger kids cause they can feed the goats and donkeys. What Ally was so crazy about.

Cause i just talked about my hometown in germany i thought it would be fun to show you where i come from..

Regensburg is in Bavaria, Germany! 1 hour north from Munich and the Oktoberfest and full of historical things to see.

We got the best bars and restaurants i've ever seen.. not because they are so fancy but there is everyday something for everybody. From the little bar on the corner where you can drink your beer after work to the little beergarden where you can eat your sausage with sauerkraut to the big fancy restaurant on top of a city tower with the greatest food and the biggest prices!

And if there is something for sure, than that a street fest in Regensburg means always, great food, good music and a lot of fun! Oh do i miss the bridge fest with all those great bands!!!

If you are happen to be in Germany, don't miss out on Regensburg and our historical city. Ride on the Donau, visit the huge cathedral, eat the best sausages in town at the Wurst Kuchl next to the Donau and please grab yourself a good beer and enjoy a beergarden with a wonderful bavarian view!!!

i have to say that i don't have A favourite book! But when i think about my favourite books, i imidiately have to think about Donna Leon. I love every single book she wrote so far!

Nobody else makes me feel and smell Venice and North Italy so much than she does. When i read her books i feel like i am in Venice sitting on a rooftop balcony and watching ove the Rio Grande.. listening to the sounds of the tourists walking thru the little streets in the city.

What a great writer! I read her books mostly in german.. and it makes me feel home! Probably cause I am from REGENSBURG.. the most northern Italien City, if she would be Italien! kinda.. whatever.. go to Amazon and get you a copy of her fantastic books! Feels like an Italy vacation!

My latest discovery is.. that i can watch german tv online here in America.

And you know what.. that makes me sooooo happy! I feel so much closer now to home since i can watch some of my favourite show again!!! I hope that internet tv will get more and more popular and they will continue this forever..

this is... my perfect dinner party

hhmm.. well it took me a while to think about that and i still don't know.. kinda! cause i can't think of somebody famous i would like to invite.

so my first thoughts about my perfect dinner party went immediately to my old friends and the wish to get us all together again and have a good time!

so here my guest list..

first of course my two best friends ALI und TINA! no party without my girls. What a happy person i am to have two sooo close people in my life even if we are continents apart!

and no party without fabio... of course! i think i can start to put the Jägermeister into the freezer. as you can see he is now a barkeeper in the ESCO bar. So if you will ever happen to be in Regensburg/Bavaria.. than of course you have to go and visit him.. he love's women..

without a picture but just as invited as anybody else is FLO.. the second barkeeper from the diner i worked with and a buddy of Fabio too. YEP i think the Jägermeister won't last too long!

...and than of course my special five! those four guys have to come and i hope we would be able to catch up on old good times!

..and Jon and mine dearest friends Ilihana and Daniel. We can't wait until they move to Texas and we are not seperated by an ocean anymore! Just by a couple (ha ha) of states!

Michael on of my special five's.. he has to get named seperate cause he is family. Would have almost been my brother in law.. but oh well.. i think the girl he is dating now is perfect for him. Even if she is not my sister!

and of course the guys jonathon worked with in germany/hohenfels! we had so many fun party's with them in this small time! and Jonathon even more fun experiences with them laying in the mud side by side.

Spring is finally here!!!

oh i am soo excited.. spring is finally also coming to Iowa. I thought i never will be able to see grass anymore. What for a snowy winder we had! You can't imagine how excited i was to shoot my sister-in-law's senior pictures in the backyard.. without getting snowed on and all frozen!! Even if i didn't got es much good shots as i wanted too.. how wonderful to have the warm sunshine back!!
not too long and you will hear me huffin and puffin over the hot weather in iowa.. and the humidity! but how do we say here.. if you don't like the weather in iowa, wait five minutes!

oh this is almost a little emberassing this is.. i have so much crab in my bag it is unbelievable. my husband always calls my bag.. a grandma Coppinger bag cause it is so heavy and when i take the bag it looks like i am moving in somewhere. but all the things are really needed! i need lotion, my ipod, lipglosses, sunglasses, hats, my glasses, the bag for groceries (cause i am green) and all that other wonderful stuff.
have you noticed that i am slightly addicted to chewing gum. the only problem is, that it is german chewing gum and so far not produced here in the usa. as far as i know. so hello care-packages from mama and grandma!

oh and i also right now need that little blue pregnancy fairy i got froma dear friend in germany.. when i was pregnant with Ally. Cause Ally is terribly ill and suffers sooo bad from it. She got the flu bug kinda combinated with an ear infection. gosh i wish we would already been to the doctor and she would feel good again. my poor little thing.

so the pregnancy fairy is another cute story.. i got her from Franzi in hope she would bring me luck. i had a little terrifying start with Ally, cause i figured out that i was pregnant way to early. And so when i came to the doctor for the first check, he couldn't see anything yet and something with the pregnancy hormons in my blood weren't right either.. so he thought it could be that the egg is not where it is supposed to be but somewhere on the left or right.. which would mean i had to get surgery and i would loose the baby.

we were so sad and i had to go to the hospital every second day to get my blood checked if the hormons doubled and than in maybe a week or two they said that they could tell me more. so the day i went to have a ultrasound she gave me that little fairy and wished Ally and me all luck in the world.. and later on in the ultrasound.. there was Ally.. at the right spot, just a little later than the doctor predicted. so this little fairy is very important to us and whenever somebody in the family is in need of her, she walks along with them for that while!

i just discovered that Mikaela over at *Music makes the people come together* posted a new challenge! i guess it is already a while ago but i am pretty sure we got till the end of the month to participate!
So you have to get inspired by Madonna's song SORRY! i have to try doing it without hearing it.. cause i can't hear that song anymore! Was quite too often in my music box! lol But i can't wait to get funky with Madonna!

While that i try to find my style again.. must have lost it somewhere on the way to germany or from! hmm... it is right now a little frustrating to kinda start over again.. i look at all my old coloful layouts and i think and think and think.. how the heck did i doo that! or did i even come up with it! Did you ever experienced that too.. next time i am somewhere for more that 2 days, i bring some Scrapbook stuff! kannste glauben... (=german)

and what would be a blog entry without a picture..

Did i even told you what a talented hubby i have.. while i was gone he builted me a living room table i was urging for the whole time since we moved in here last year! i love the rustic feel to it! And there is still some iron missing on both sides of the table! this gonna make it even more rustic and beautiful! i am so proud at it!

and here a picture of my daugther Ally and my grandma while we were home in germany. my grandma is my mama mama, cause i lived at her house for a couple of years during the week, cause my parents where busy working and studying. So it is something totally special to me to see those two people beeing together! can't wait to fly home again sometime!

Today i gonna share something very important to me right now in my life! The book
"A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle.

Thank god for Oprah and here wise decision to choose this book for her Book Club, cause i would have never picked it up in a bookstore myself. If you haven't read it by now.. please go to the store right now and get it! It is so important for everyone in this world.

i have to say it is sometimes a little hard for me to understand everything, but thank god again for Oprah, she has that Class going, where Eckhart and Oprah are both answering questions and explaining it step by step. Even my husband joined me yesterday evening to watch the class online! And how crazy, people all over the world are online with you watching the class and joining in and getting awaken to their lifes purpose! really.. go and check it out! and don't you think i am a freak or so.. this is really nothing weird at all!
